Who knew that coffee could do this?

My absolute favorite way to start my day is to take a walk around my neighborhood with a cup of my favorite Starbucks beverage listening to a podcast that inspires me.  A grande nonfat latte with cinnamon on top just puts a smile on my face and gives me the fuel to kick-off my day.

On a typical day, you would frequently find me working out of my local Starbucks several days a week after I drop my boys at school. I love being able to work from home as an entrepreneur, but I do crave the human connection and love the energy associated with being around people. I have met so many great people sitting in that coffee shop and we have come to know each other casually over the past year.

When my local Starbucks had to close due to COVID19 as we drifted into quarantine mode, I missed that human connection that had become a part of each morning. I am definitely feeling something missing in my daily routine and have no idea when I can get that routine back on track.

Social distancing doesn’t mean we have to socially disengage.

So many of us crave the human connection and so I have decided to do something to give back during these challenging times.

On March 24th of 2020 I decided to take the lockdown by the horns and do something to bring our community together and bring hope to many who needed it. I created “Coffee with Kelly”, a virtual coffee shop that I host on Zoom every Monday and Friday each week to bring people together who crave the human connection (and their coffee!).

Many people are anxious, scared, and lonely at this time. In my heart, I feel called to do this for as many as I can to bring the human touch to those who are seeking hope and inspiration.

I have created different series to cater to different people such as “Leadership Lessons” to share leadership tips and how to lead through crisis, “Courageous Conversations” to bring people together in a safe space to talk about the cultural crisis in America, “Job Search in Crisis for Job Seekers”, and just launched a new series called “The Servant Leader Series” to highlight servant leaders around the county who are serving others and doing amazing things for their community.

Our typical vibe in the coffee shop is to kick off the week with a leadership lesson to focus on applying on Mondays and then on Fridays we come back together to celebrate successes we have had during the week in different areas such as parenting, leading a team, leading ourselves, or acts of kindness that we have shared with others.  Nothing is too small to celebrate and sometimes we forget to take the time to give that to ourselves.

These are FREE opportunities for you or anyone you know who just needs to connect.  I typically serve anywhere from 40-80 visitors in the coffee shop during each call and the conversations are authentic and vulnerable because that is how we connect with others most.  This is an opportunity to share your thoughts or even just listen as we gather with each other over coffee for an hour online.

What I have noticed most through my virtual coffee shop is that after we all hang up I feel so much more positive. My mindset is uplifted to continue doing what I need to do in the day ahead.

The power of starting our day off right during these tough times really makes a difference. If I can help people do that to keep pushing through right now then it is my gift to you.

Join my virtual coffee shop and you will encounter an experience booming with inspiration! You can register for any upcoming "Coffee with Kelly" events below. If you have a need for a certain topic right now, please let me know so I can get it out there for you.
