The One Thing You Can Be Negative About.

The arrival of the COVID-19 pandemic has resulted in our world being locked into a protracted crisis mode. This has served as the causation of another pandemic on our hands, while not quite as deadly or sinister, it still leaves many with the feeling of little hope. I will title it, 'NEGATIVE-20' which leaves its victim suffering from a lack of a positive outlook on life.

I am hearing from people about their various fears which is creating more stress in their lives. They frequently reference how they are struggling to maintain a positive attitude while navigating the ups and downs of the pandemic.

Now don't get me wrong, I am not going to lie, there have been many days I could have easily crawled back into my warm bed when things weren't going right.

A couple of examples that come to mind include struggles with my business or being faced with helping my son with those awful parabolic equations in his Algebra I homework (I thought parabola was food poisoning not math!). This led me to begin considering how a negative attitude would actually serve me in this situation — in short, it would not help at all!

Think about it, when we carry a negative attitude around, does it really serve us? Does it make it any better or is it just a band-aid placed over the issue without really seeing a different perspective of what this is teaching us?

For me, I have made the decision during this pandemic to foster a positive attitude even through the toughest moments. I wake up and I DECIDE to face the day with positive thoughts and grace taking one step at a time. I can't control certain things around me, but I can control how I react to them and staying positive has definitely served me well during this crisis.

Staying positive creates good energy and good energy creates momentum.

Back to the title of this article, there is ONE time I would say that being NEGATIVE is a good thing...

Having a negative COVID-19 result! Yes, its more of a punchline, but I hope it helps you to consider your mindset and begin to reset your thinking no matter what the challenges are at this time.

Wishing you a positive and energy filled week,

Kelly
