Keep Going
So many people I coach seem to possess similar voids in their lives. I am realizing we all desire the same two things in our lives. We all want to know that we are valued and that we have been heard. Unfortunately, there are hundreds and thousands out there who don’t see this within themselves nor do they ever hear it from anyone else.
If there is anything you can take away from my weekly messages, you must know that I value you.
Get up and keep going.
Maybe you aren’t as far along as you thought you would be by now. Perhaps you feel that you are too old to take a chance on changing your career but something inside of you wants to see what could be. Maybe the anxiety you are feeling is wrapped around the idea of not knowing what your future will look like. Will I even be successful? Remember, the harshest judge of your performance is always watching – that judge is you!
Listen to me when I say this: Success isn’t about how your life looks like to others. Success is personal and it is about how success looks to you. You will never be happy living your life in the eyes of what someone else sees as your success. Those people are not the ones who will live with your regret. Let that idea go and focus on what makes YOU come alive.
If I had listened to what other people thought my success should look like, I would have lost the joy in what lights my heart on fire. One of the first comments I received from a friend when I shared that I wanted to explore other professional opportunities was, “can you even make any money doing that?” Money is nice to have, but it simply didn’t leave me feeling fulfilled. If I had allowed that comment to slow me down, I may never have found what I am doing now. I am happier now than I have ever been!
Don’t let the next 20 years go by and then wonder, “what if?” Look at where you are right now, in this very moment, and instead ask yourself, “why not?”
You may not have all the answers today, but maybe the first question you need to ask yourself is if you are too comfortable where you are?
Comfort will never move you to action.
The way forward often starts with a step backward.
I believe in you.
