I Have Been Living Off Of My Trust Fund
You can do the same! To be clear, I am not referencing the traditional trust fund scenario of financial fortunes. Instead, I am speaking about amassing a level of trust within that many possess but few ever tap into. We all have an internal "trust fund". Trusting yourself can be a difficult thing to do. But to trust yourself is also the most empowering decision that you can make. It is one of the most critical success factors in your career and life. Trusting yourself is about sharing your knowledge, your wisdom and secrets. It's about allowing those around you to experience the real you. When you trust yourself, you do not hesitate to share the harvest of the momentum that you are building with others.
For as long as I can remember, I have been a person who has always set goals for myself and included a plan to execute on them. I have always had a high degree of trust in myself and my abilities to accomplish. I vividly remember being in second grade and wanting to win a contest at school for selling the most magazines. I would come home from school for two weeks straight and force my mother to follow me on foot around our neighborhood so that I could knock on every door and ask the question, "would you like to buy People Magazine or Reader's Digest?" It was as if I didn't give my potential customer an option to buy or not to buy, I just gave them a choice of which one to buy.
I know there are so many others out there just like me who execute on goals just like I have all of my life. What is it about us and how do we differentiate ourselves from the pack? We don't just say that we are going to do something, we actually DO something.
I became more curious about this trait as I built my own company and began setting new goals. I would find myself pondering this topic more and asking what it was within me, this will to succeed, it came so naturally.
Then magically the answer came to me recently – I live RICH!
Now, when I say "RICH", I am talking about living with an ABUNDANT mindset, it's not about the money or assets.
I wake up each day grateful for what I have and thankful for what I visualize in my mind, what I will create and achieve.
It is a powerful belief within myself which helps me to establish what I believe can be accomplished. It is CONFIDENCE in knowing that when I do focus on accomplishing something, I can tap into my TRUST FUND which allows me to believe I can do something great. I have taught myself over the years to believe in what I can do and to invest in myself. By developing what I am good allows me to keep building on my "mental bank account" which includes big dividends that pay off.
I have had several people recently ask me how was I able to just let go of a successful career and walk into the unknown with no guarantee of a paycheck. I get it, it is crazy and difficult to wrap one's mind around that concept of stepping away from comfort and relying solely on yourself. For me, I really didn't stress over it very much because my internal trust fund kicked in and covered that gap in confidence where most people will stop. The moment I jumped off the "corporate cliff" I readjusted my focus and shifted 100% of my attention into who I was becoming.
I am no smarter, educated or more talented than anyone else. What I do have within is a FEARLESS sense of self ability and when it kicks into full gear there is nothing that can stop me. We all have it, it's just a matter of tapping into it, building on it and taking action.
Life for me isn't about being RICH, it is about ENRICHING others and that is what I was born to do. How much do we deposit into others' lives on a daily basis or do you always find yourself making a withdrawal and living life in the red? Think about it...
I challenge you to take yourself to the bank today. The bank of another you know in need and make a deposit.
To your growth,
Kelly
